The focus of this class will be to work on Coastal Skills while heading from Pillar Point Harbor to Flat Rock (pending conditions)
You planned a paddle on the coast but the forecast that day has you thinking you should stay home….A large part of coastal paddling is being adaptable!
As a group, we will look at the planning process for a trip to Flat Rock the morning of the event, including forecasts, landing options, route and group ability's.
We will look at the forecast and determine together a plan for the day while discussing the reasons behind our decisions. Then continue this throughout the day including picking landing spots or whatever activity the day is appropriate for. We will work on launching and landing, dealing with waves, and other strategies appropriate for paddling the coast This class will not be cancelled for conditions other than lightning, we will (together) adapt the day to the group skill level and appropriate activities.
