This assessment is for paddlers who have a practiced efficient self rescue, experience with assisted rescues and are comfortable controlling their boat.

Purpose: The purpose of the Level 2 Kayaking Trip Leader assessment is to prepare individuals who intend to lead other paddlers, either recreationally or professionally.

Trip Leader Assessment Overview: For successful completion of the L2 assessment an individual must demonstrate technical proficiency, trip planning, group management and leadership skills in the L2 venue.

Skills Assessment Overview: This ACA Assessment Course is designed to evaluate a participant’s ability to perform all of the skills listed along with demonstrating an appropriate level of knowledge. This assessment course provides the participant with the opportunity to receive documentation of having achieved a certain level of paddling ability.
