Negotiating the surf zone (the area where waves break on the beach) is required to surf or access many places on the coast, This class is the first step for those who want to surf and play on the coast. In this class you will learn:

How the surf zone works, how to brace in breaking waves, launching and landing techniques, boat control and positioning in the soup zone (the area between the outer waves and the beach) , interpreting a surf forecast and introduce kayak surfing.

Location:  North Oregon Coast - location pending ocean conditions that week, possibly Cannon Beach, Oceanside Beach

Time: In order to secure good parking and enjoy less crowded beaches, we will meet at 8:30, geared up ready to paddle 9am
